Created at the infamous Savoy Hotel in London, the rich Aberdeen Flip is one to satisfy a sweet tooth. The chocolate notes present within Chivas 18 are enhanced by the chocolate bitters, while the tart black cherry jam and sweet honeyed spice syrup harmonise beautifully. Who needs dessert with a cocktail recipe like this?

Shaking the whisky cocktail twice (once with ice and once without ice) ensures the egg is fully emulsified for a smooth and creamy texture

MAKE SYRUP

Make honeyed spice syrup by bringing 200ml white sugar, 200ml water, 3 tsp honey, 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon, 3 whole star anise and half a vanilla pod to the boil. Simmer for 5 mins. Strain and let cool

SHAKE IT

Add all the ingredients into a dry cocktail shaker and shake for 10 seconds

Add ice to the shaker and shake for a further 10 seconds

SERVE

Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and serve
