Our Pineapple Old Fashioned is a flavour sensation. Using aromatic Chivas Regal Mizunara as its base, this deep yet tropical cocktail features the bright flavours of honey, coconut and pineapple – not all Scotch cocktails have to be traditional!

Rocks or Tumbler glass

50 ml	Chivas Mizunara
20 ml	Honey & Coconut Cordial
2 dashes	Pineapple Bitters
	Absinthe rinse

PRO TIP

Keep a batch of homemade cordial in the fridge. Then it only takes a moment to whip up flavoursome whisky cocktails in the future!

PREP

To make the honey and coconut cordial, blend 2 parts honey with 1 part coconut water. Optional: add 2g of citric acid every 100 ml of cordial to make it more acidic. Let cool

BUILD

Add the Chivas, cordial and bitters to a mixing vessel. Fill to the top with ice, and stir for approximately 20 seconds, tasting intermittently

REFINE

Rinse a chilled rocks glass with absinthe by adding a dash and swilling it around

STRAIN & SERVE

Strain into the rinsed glass and serve

TRY THIS

Rinsing the glass with absinthe instead of adding it into the mixture adds a subtle hint of aromatic anise, but not too much to overwhelm the other flavours in this short drink.
