Our Extra range is an exciting selection of whiskies which gives our signature house-style an extra twist of flavour through experimental cask finishes. By selectively maturing our house whisky in casks from around the world, we’ve added a vibrant new layer of flavour to our blends.

In typical Chivas Regal style, we’re bringing out the best of the blends with a series of fresh spins on classic cocktails. Stay tuned for a bold blend of taste experiences from around the world – paired with our gastronomic recommendations for a full twist of flavour this summer.

SHERRY CASK
SELECTION

Get ready to be transported to the Spanish Coast with the Chivas Regal Extra Sherry Cask Selection. Selectively finished in Sherry Oloroso casks*, our sherry-cask selection is a rich and intense twist on the Chivas Regal house style of blended Scotch whisky.  Expect sweet ripe pears in syrup, cinnamon sweets, toffee and ginger. 

 

For the full Spanish experience, we’d recommend a Sangria-serve. For one, combine 30ml Chivas Regal Extra Sherry Cask* with 20ml Campo Viejo Rioja, 20ml lemon juice, 20ml sugar syrup (1:1) and 60ml soda water. It’s long, refreshing, and most importantly – quick enough to mix up during half time of your favourite match. Next time it’s your turn to host, make a jug – simply multiply the quantities by the number of people, and mix up over ice.

EXTRA TWIST


If you thought scotch and Sangria was reimagining the confines of whisky – think again. Now, we’re suggesting you try it slushie-style – blending your ingredients with ice for an extra-refreshing twist. Blend for approximately 10 seconds, serve up and add the garnish of your dreams (whatever that may be). An orange slice will do just fine, but if you want to add a final twist – try doubling up with an orange zest twist.
To add an extra twist of flavour through food, we’d recommend pairing the Sangria with salty or smoky dishes. Keep it Spanish style with an assortment of nuts, pinchos or smoky jamon croquettes – or play around with your favourite snacks and see what suits your tastes best.

RUM CASK

SELECTION


Next on our journey, we’re heading to the tropics. Selective finishing in rum casks produces tropical Caribbean flavours – a sweet and luscious interpretation of our house style. Alone, citrus flavours are brought to the forefront of the palate – orange, apricot jam, honey and a dusting of cinnamon.
Pair with pineapple, lime and coconut, and you’re in for a tropical treat. Try mixing up our take on a Pina Colada, the Extra Colada: with 50ml Chivas Regal Extra Rum Cask Selection*, 30ml pineapple juice, 25ml lime juice and 20ml sweet coconut cream. Best served straight out of a pineapple (if you’re feeling funky).

GIVE IT AN EXTRA TWIST

There’s no denying this Pina Colada is perfect for a crowd. To add some extra fun to your next gathering, why not mix up a few and then let your guests choose their own garnish? We’re talking all kinds of tropical fruits – from pineapple slices and leaves to adding a caramelized banana on the top for a rich buttery twist of sweet flavour. For food, the Extra Colada works well with spicy dishes like jerk chicken, shrimp, spicy tuna.

TEQUILA CASK SELECTION

The final stop on our world tour (for now, watch this space) – is Mexico; with a Tequila cask selection which adds a bold yet smooth and rounded twist of flavour. Notes to look for include sweet banana toffee, grapefruit, pineapple and vanilla – rounded off with a touch of fresh mint leaf. 

Nothing takes you to Mexico quite like cult-classic, the Paloma. For the full paloma experience, combine 45ml Chivas Regal Extra Tequila Cask Selection*, 20ml grapefruit Juice, 10ml lime juice and 10ml agave syrup in a glass with lots of ice, then top with soda.

EXTRA TWIST


If you’re low on ingredients, create a simple take on the classic by combining 35ml Chivas Regal Extra Tequila Cask* with a grapefruit soda (or any other soda of your choice). But, if you’re keeping things simple with the highball, we’re expecting an extra twist somewhere. and food is always a good place to start. Think Mexican Street corn-style, goat cheese quesadillas or BBQ flavours of any kind for the Extra Paloma.
