Much like a whisky mojito, a Mint Julep cocktail blends whisky, ice and mint for an extra refreshing drink. The Mint Julep drink is often associated with America’s deep southern states – what better way to cool off in the heat? We’ve used Chivas Extra 13 Rye Cask* in homage, but you can use any Chivas blend in our twist, the Extra Julep. *A portion of this blended Scotch whisky is finished in rye casks.

10 ml
Sugar Syrup
2 dashes
Angostura Bitters

Mint Leaves
Mint Sprig, to garnish

PRO TIP

Crushed ice is essential in a julep cocktail. Don’t have any? Shake the drink and use the broken-up ice from the shaker.

POUR

Add Chivas and all other ingredients into a julep tin filled with crushed ice

STIR

Stir with a spoon churn or mix the ice with the ingredients at a rapid pace

REFINE

Add more ice to fill the tin and make sure the ice is tight and compact

SERVE

Garnish with a mint sprig and serve
