What is the difference between Chivas Regal and Chivas Regal Extra?
The Chivas Regal Extra 13 range adds an extra cask selective maturation or finish to the whisky making process. Our Scotch is aged for 13 years in the cask, then spends additional time in another cask (such as sherry or rye) to bring a new world of flavour to the blend.
What is a sherry cask?
A sherry cask is the wooden barrel used to age sherries.
What does sherry cask do to whisky and what does Sherry cask whisky taste like?
Using sherry casks to selectively mature a portion of our blended Scotch whisky enhances the rich flavours within the blend. Rather than making the final result taste of sherry, a sherry cask whisky is a whisky with a richer and deeper flavour.
