CHIVAS RED COLLINS COCKTAIL RECIPE

Fresh - Intermediate - Collins Glass

Collins style cocktail is similar to the classic highball cocktail, but also adds lemon juice and sugar to the mix. Our scarlet variation takes inspiration from the Spanish Tinto de Verano drink, a popular summer cocktail which uses wine as its base.
Our version features Chivas Extra 13 Sherry Cask, which is selectively finished in Oloroso sherry casks to provide that rich, Mediterranean flavour. Adding additional Oloroso sherry and redcurrant syrup to lemon, Scotch and soda creates something sweet yet wonderfully refreshing.

Ingredients

[25] dry Oloroso sherry
[25] Chivas Extra 13 Sherry Cask
[12.5] fresh lemon juice
[12.5] redcurrant syrup Dash of soda water
Lemon peel, to garnish

How to make it

1 Add all ingredients except soda into glass.
2 Fill the glass with ice all the way to the top.
3 Add a little bit of soda and give a small 2 second stir to blend the ingredients.
4 Add a little more soda, so the liquid is 3cm below the top.
5 Add one or two more ice cubes to make them tight and compact.
6 Garnish with lemon peel.
7 Serve.

WHISKY COCKTAIL RECIPE TIP

You can make any syrup by simmering one part sugar with one part water, alongside anything from herbs and spices to fruits and vegetables. Simply strain the mixture out before cooling for use in a range of cocktails.
