BOBBY BURNS COCKTAIL RECIPE
Short and strong - Intermediate - Coupette
Like so many classic cocktails, the origin of how the Bobby Burns cocktail got its name is a cloud of mystery involving a cigar salesman, famed Savoy bartender Harry Craddock, and a famous Scottish poet. One thing for sure is over the years it has always been consumed to celebrate the latter, Scottish poet Robert Burns. The inspiration behind Scotland’s traditional Burns Night, Robert Burns is famed for poems such as ‘Ode to a Haggis’. While this Scotch cocktail has no ode, it has indeed become a classic cocktail.
The Bobby Burns is a variation of the Rob Roy cocktail and adds D.O.M Benedictine to the ingredients list, a botanical liqueur made with 27 herbs, spices and peels. Combining these sweet aromatic flavours with rich Chivas Extra 13 Sherry Cask results in a cocktail with a deep flavour profile. Make sure to raise a glass with one of these next Burns Night!
