Fruity and sweet - Novice - Coupette

This fresh, sour style drink was created by Rhys Wilson at the 2017 Chivas Masters. A sweeter twist on the classic Whisky Sour recipe, Vanity uses black apple aperitif for a subtle sweetness that works to draw out the orchard fruit flavours in Chivas 12.
This whisky cocktail recipe also integrates sweet cranberries in a unique way: by shaking them with the cocktail mix. This ensures a subtle hint of flavour as the fruit infuses the mix, rather than an intense syrup or cordial.

1. You can make your own sugar syrup at home by heating one part sugar with one part water, and then simmering together until the sugar has fully dissolved. If you like things extra sweet, use two parts sugar to one part water.

2. If you don’t have any cranberries, raspberries also work beautifully in this drink.
