Chivas Whisky Mule Cocktail

Chivas Mule - Mamie Taylor

The Mamie Taylor is a wonderfully tall, refreshing scotch cocktail, which was created for an opera singer of the same name around 1899. You might be more familiar with the drink it inspired, the Moscow Mule, but the Mamie Taylor is actually the original, and the fruity, floral notes of Chivas 12 make it a much more complex and interesting drink.

    Ingredients

  • [45] Chivas 12
  • [5] part lime juice
  • [150] parts ginger beer
  • Wedge of lime

    How to make it

  1. 1 Copper mule mug/highball glass
  2. 2 Add lime juice
  3. 3 Fill glass with ice
  4. 4 Add Chivas 12
  5. 5 Fill up with ginger beer
  6. 6 Give glass a stir
  7. 7 Add a flourish of green with a lime wedge

Where does the Mule come from?


The Moscow Mule was dated back to 1941 at New York's Chatham Hotel. John "Jack" Morgan, owner of the Hollywood Cock'n Bull Restaurant and president of Cock'n Bull Products.

WHISKY COCKTAIL RECIPE TIP

While stirring the Scotch and soda together mixes the drink, make sure to not overmix the highball as this can cause it to lose its fizz.
