Back in the 13th century, Scotland and France created a historic pact named the Auld Alliance. Creating cooperation between the two nations, it remains today the oldest alliance in the world. In the world of whisky cocktail recipes, the Auld Alliance cocktail takes influence from ingredients originating from these two nations. Chivas 18 is our most complex blend, mixed with French cognac for a delicious short and strong drink.

In a mixing vessel, stir the sugar syrup together with the bitters

Add Chivas 18 and cognac and stir again

Take a chilled old fashioned or rocks glass and swirl enough Absinthe around the inside to coat the glass

Pour the contents of the mixing vessel into the glass
