In Colombia, businesses dump around 10 million pieces of furniture annually – that’s a lot of office chairs! Recupera Tu Silla offers a service for companies willing to reuse old structures as raw materials to create upcycled office furniture.
We’ve developed a re-use and recycle process that creates a brighter future for everyone involved. The companies we partner with can save up to 75% in business expenses, and we offer careers to young victims of armed conflict by training them to become craftsman of our furniture. And of course, we’re mitigating the industrial environmental impact through recycling.
We’re passionate about closing the inequality gap that’s so prevalent here. 45% of schools in Colombia are woefully underfunded. We dedicate a percentage of our profits to restoring furniture for schools in poor areas, such as benches, desks and chairs, so that children have the basic necessities for learning.

We have a plan to improve logistics, infrastructure, communication and the organisational culture within our business. Funding for us means we can generate more resource to recover more than 21,000 pieces of furniture every year. Funding equals employment for 46 more victims of the armed conflict. It would also mean that up to 4,500 children will have a decent desk to write on. The funding would provide a brighter future for the environment, victims of conflict and the children of Colombia.
