Well worth the paper it's written on...

Words With Heart is an eco-friendly stationery and printery social enterprise that funds education projects for women and girls.

No trees or native forests are harmed in the production of our paper stationery. We use 100% recycled paper, vegetable-based inks, and green electricity. This is important because the traditional paper industry is the world’s 4th largest industrial user of energy and a significant cause of greenhouse gases.

In addition, we use a portion of our profits to fund education days for women and girls in the developing world - and for each product, we let consumers know exactly how many days they are helping to fund. In partnership with some of the world’s most reputable charities, we currently fund projects in Sierra Leone, Cambodia, Uganda and Nepal. Some of these projects support girls in primary and high school education - paying for school fees, uniforms, books, sanitary pads... Other projects teach women the skills to start and grow successful small businesses.

Investing in education is THE most powerful way…

To empower women. A child whose mother can read is 50% more likely to survive past the age of five, and just one additional year of education will increase a girl’s earnings by 20%. When we educate a girl - everything changes. And the Words With Heart business model ensures that we will be able to continue to fund their education year after year.

Funding would help us build a digital platform where our customers could go online, design, quote and order their stationery products at the press of a button. This will enable us to reach so many more customers, expand into international markets, and bring us one step closer to our goal of funding one million education days for women and girls by the beginning of 2019.

My heroes are...

Gloria Steinem, for her tireless activism and everything she has done for female empowerment. And Michelle Obama; she has been a powerful voice for investing in education for women and girls, and her compassion and confidence inspire me.
