Each year the Chivas Venture competition supports the world’s best social startups with $1 million in funding and expert coaching. Applications for this year are now open to social entrepreneurs from around the globe who are using business to solve social and environmental issues. To find out which countries are participating, click here.
Applicants will compete in local heats with the winner from each country becoming a finalist. All finalists will then be invited to the United Kingdom to take part in an exclusive Accelerator Programme hosted by The Conduit in London. The intensive training programme will give them the chance to hone their pitches ahead of the final event.
The first $100,00 of the funding will be decided by the public in an online vote following the Accelerator Programme. The remainder of the fund will be decided at the Global Final in Europe where the finalists will battle it out live on stage in front of our expert judges and the public.
Just as Chivas brings together malt and grain whiskies to create award-winning blended Scotch, the Chivas Venture champions entrepreneurs who blend profit and purpose to have a positive impact on the world. Chivas’ belief in blending ambition with generosity, and in using success to enrich the lives of others, was instilled in the 19th century by founding brothers James and John Chivas.
Since the competition’s launch in 2014, the entrepreneurs we’ve supported have enriched the lives of more than 1 million people in over 40 countries.
In 2018, our winner was Cemal Ezal, founder of Change Please, an innovative coffee company that employs homeless people as baristas. Since winning the competition, he’s built a training academy to employ and empower even more homeless people.
