A portion of Chivas Extra 13 is finished in American rye casks, adding an extra touch to this 13-year-old whisky. Chivas Regal first landed on American shores in 1909 and took New York by storm, and this mellow whisky pays homage to that shared history.

What is the difference between Chivas Regal and Chivas Regal Extra?
The Chivas Regal Extra 13 range adds an extra cask selective maturation or finish to the whisky making process. Our Scotch is aged for 13 years in the cask, and then spends additional time in another cask (such as rye or sherry) to bring a new world of flavour to the blend.

No, Chivas Extra 13 Rye Cask* is a blended Scotch whisky. Our expert blending team add a portion of our Scotch into a cask that previously held rye whiskey, which enhances the mellow flavours already present in our blend.
*A portion of this blended Scotch whisky has been finished in American Rye casks.
