Helping the planet and the community, one brush at a time
Ecoheart creates products with purpose. We’re a group of friends that realised back in 2014 that we wanted to make a difference, so we create simple products that respect the environment and we donate 10% of sales to non-profit community projects.
Our eco-friendly toothbrush handle is made from bamboo, the fastest naturally growing wood in the world, making it sustainable and recyclable. Our aim is to make people realise that even the small things in life, like a toothbrush, can change the world little by little.
Plastic waste is a growing problem that needs to be addressed globally. In the United States alone it is estimated that over 850 million toothbrushes are discarded and end up in landfill every year. By doing the everyday task of brushing their teeth with one of our toothbrushes, our customers can feel happy in the knowledge that they are helping to better our environment.
Funding would allow us to…
Realise our goal of bringing industry back to Slovakia and open the first factory manufacturing toothbrushes from reclaimed wood in Europe. We aim to centralise local production, to protect and support local brands, to develop the region, to educate the public and to support culture and tourism. We also aim to employ disabled people to work in the manufacturing process, giving them a chance to be part of this movement for change.
As well as creating new job opportunities and boosting local economy, we plan to reduce the environmental footprint and use renewable resources to overall reduce the production of plastic.
We didn’t start with a business plan…
Some people create a detailed business plan first, then make money before starting to think about giving back. We did the exact opposite. We started from the inside, with our hearts and with no plan whatsoever. We learned how to produce our own toothbrushes, toothpaste and mouthwash and we now know all about the necessary equipment, materials and processes. This is how Ecoheart started out and it’s the ‘heart’ at the centre that represents our business today.
