If anyone thinks of a whisky cocktail, an Old Fashioned recipe is likely to come to mind. Despite what the name suggests, this cocktail is far from being an old-fashioned drink. There are few other Old Fashioned ingredients beyond whisky – just sugar and bitters – to really hero the main character.

Chivas 18
2 dashes
Angostura Bitters
5 ml
Sugar Syrup
Orange Zest, to garnish

PRO TIP

Whisky Old Fashioneds are easy to adapt – just swap the sugar syrup for a flavoured syrup of your choice to find your perfect variation.

STIR

Add all ingredients to a mixing glass and stir with ice for approximately 20 seconds

Strain into a rocks glass with a large block of ice

Garnish with orange zest and serve
