
Conuco Solar finished with the highest number of votes after the second week of voting for The Venture came to an end.
The start-up from the Dominican Republic,which aims to make solar energy accessible for more people,accounted for 16% of the total, gaining over $8,000 of funding for their solar powered business idea.
Next came Chilean start-up Algramo with 13% of the public vote. They took home nearly $7,000.
In third was Diseclar from Colombia, who were awarded $5,781 after winning 12% of all votes.
All the other socially minded start-ups took home much-needed funding as well.
After receiving over 1,000 entries fromacross five continents, 16 of the most promising start-ups from as many countries were selected to compete for The Venture’s $1million in funding. What these 16 all share is a mission to tackle a range of social and environmental issues.
From May 11thto June 14ththey’re going head-to-head in a public vote, competing for an initial share of $250,000 from the total $1million fund.
